V_0_1_9 Update
In our attempts to make the game playable, we've unfortunately made the game highly inaccessible. This update is the first of several that aims to change that. With various playtests, we've determined that the AI Editor is the most confusing and unintuitive aspect of Siege Bots. As such, we've focused our efforts on improving it.
AI Editor notes:
Beginning to create AI is not much different than before. You can create new states and link transitions between states. The State and Transition Editors themselves are drastically different. Rather than creating new actions, choosing a part, and selecting a method, these editors are more contextual. The menus open with all relevant bot parts. Selecting a bot part will open a panel with available actions, which can be activated or deactivated by double clicking. If those actions have inputs of any kind, a panel will open allowing you to input custom data for these actions.
In addition to these contextual menus, the State Editor comes with a preview mode. This preview allows you to watch what the bot would do in it's current state. Rather than guessing how your bot will perform, you get a live example to tweak and iterate on.
The other major change to the AI Editor is that you can now edit pre-existing AI. Loading a bot will load its associated AI. Previously you needed to recreate the AI every time you needed to make a change. Way too much of a hassle.
In order for these changes to work correctly, previously saved state machines are incompatible and should be deleted.
